Amitabh Bachchan's Hoarding As 'Don' To Spread Awareness About COVID-19 Removed To NOT Hurt Fans' Sentiments
A hoarding in Maharashtra's Osmanabad with Amitabh Bachchan's dialogue from Don against Coronavirus removed to respect fans' sentiments.
Some days ago, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, followed by his son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan, was tested positive for Coronavirus. The four of them have been admitted to Nanavati Hospital and are in stable condition. In the midst of all this, a report in India TV states how a hoarding of the veteran actor, featuring his iconic dialogue from 1978 Don to spread awareness about Coronavirus, has been removed from a village in Maharashtra.
Reportedly, the hoarding, which was placed in Osmanabad, has been taken down to respect the actor's fans' sentiments, especially amid his recovery from the virus. The hoarding in question had a message in Marathi asking people to stay inside their houses in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Lohara Nagar Panchayat chief officer of the village, on Saturday, revealed that they have decided to take down the hoarding as a gesture of respect for all the Amitabh Bachchan fans.
As for the hoarding, referring the veteran actor's dialogue in the blockbuster film, the message read, "The don whose capture was not only difficult but impossible, has been caught by coronavirus... stay at home for your families and do not unnecessarily try to become a 'don'".
Gajanan Shinde, the Lohara Nagar Panchayat chief officer Gajanan Shinde, sais to India TV, "We had designed this banner to create awareness about coronavirus and displayed it. But looking after sentiments of fans of Amitabh Bachchan here, we have removed it."
